A care contract is an agreement entered into between a caregiver and an individual needing care services, generally in the home. The purpose of the document is to outline the responsibilities of — and services to be performed by — the caregiver, the expectations and needs of the individual receiving the care, and the compensation to be received.
A care contract is a vital document for anyone receiving compensation for providing in-home care and, without this agreement in place, an individual’s future Medicaid benefits could be jeopardized.
